First delivery of our new all-electric binding machine

Innovative design, modular structure and energy effective. Sund Birsta has developed a revolutionary, all-electric binding machine that makes a big impact on customer productivity and cost efficiency.

The KNSe binding machine is designed for binding small and medium-sized bundles of bars and sections, also referred to as sub bundles. Nothing extraordinary in that, but what sets the machine apart from others on the market is its all-electric operation. The KNSe binding machine is the first machine of its kind that Sund Birsta has developed and thanks to the all-electric operation, Sund Birsta’s customer can save up to 90 percent of the energy cost compared to conventional hydraulic binding machines.

Innovative and user-friendly design

The KNSe bindning machine is developed with quality and productivity as top priority. Thanks to the modular design, the KNSe is developed to easily integrate into any line in the rolling mill industry. The modular structure also facilitates the procedure when the machine needs to be serviced, as the binding unit can be lifted out for service, making it possible to minimize downtime by immediately putting in a replacement.

The brand-new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) of the KNSe is user-friendly and allows the operator to easily change the machine’s parameters. It also features service instructions, a guide for trouble solving and alerts for changing of wear parts. The machine is fully automatic but can also be manually operated from a local control panel.

Remarkable maintenance and support

Like all machines and handling systems from Sund Birsta, the KNSe is reliable and durable. To reduce the risk of breakdown, the KNSe has also been equipped with a smart interface that uses historical data to perform predictive maintenance and prevent production loss.

With access to Sund Connect, it is always easy to get remote support. Thanks to our Internet of Things (IoT) solution, our specialists can perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of the KNSe binding machine. This can also allow for improved preventive maintenance and optimization.
